Moyer joined the Great American Conference as the league's Assistant Commissioner for Communications in August 2012. Moyer previously worked at the Atlantic Sun Conference, ESPN, and the Cincinnati Reds. He received a promotion to Associate Commissioner in 2015.
With the Great American Conference, he serves as the coordinator of the Harlon Hill Award - presented to the top football player in Division II - and as the national coordinator of the D2CCA Women's Basketball All-America process. In 2016, he accepted a position onto the board of Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA). In 2018, he ascended to D2CIDA Vice President.
Moyer, a 2003 graduate of the University of Missouri's highly regarded journalism program, managed the communications department for NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference from July 2007 until July 2011. In addition to his media relations responsibilities, he served as the championship administrator for men's and women's golf.
The Cincinnati native spent 16 months as a studio researcher at ESPN, working primarily with Major League Baseball and NCAA Division I Top 25 basketball broadcasts. He also created the online content for the "Sportscenter: 50 States in 50 Days" event.
Moyer spent the 2004 baseball campaign with the Cincinnati Reds where he provided content for pre-game and post-game note packets. He also maintained the record book for professional baseball's oldest franchise.
One year earlier, he worked in the media relations department for the triple-A Nashville Sounds. During his time, he created in franchise's first postseason media guide.

Moyer married Amanda Deaton in a ceremony outside Tullahoma, Tennessee in October 2013. The couple resides in Nashville with their two cats, Apollo and Newton, and dog, Griffey. They have a son, David Elias, and a daughter, Jane Faye.
